July - Taimoor receives the Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award (R35 MIRA) from NIH / NIGMS. The $1.9 million award will fund research on using biomaterials to understand cell behavior during wound healing.

January - Ellie and Leia’s original research article describing granular hydrogels for VML treatment is accepted in Advanced Healthcare Materials!
January - A review paper on implantable biomaterials to treat volumetric muscle loss is published in the Young Investigator’s issue of Cells Tissue Organs! Co-authors include undergraduate students Leia Schiltz, Elizabeth Grivetti, and Ellie Tanner.
January - Tuba Marjan joins the lab as its first PhD student - welcome!

October - The lab’s first pre-print is online at BioRxiv! Work co-led by undergraduate students Ellie Tanner and Leia Schiltz.
September - Taimoor receives the Dr. James R. Neff Research Excellence Award from the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation!
